SEBAGO SURF CLUB is the latest restaurant from chef/restauranteur Rick Boyd. In 2024 Boyd launched Backwoods Burger Shack in Gorham, ME. A simple roadside burger stand serving up hand crafted smash burgers, fried made from local Maine potatoes, buttermilk brined crispy chicken strips and a broad assortment of creative milkshakes. 

Boyd and his wife Tatiana came to Maine from a decade in Lake Tahoe where they operated three restaurants. Brewforia, Bertie's Hot Chicken and burroBURRO. After Covid and the tragic wildfires in 2021 they began looking for a place where they could do what they love and not always be at the mercy of Mother Nature. Tatiana, a native of Idaho had always dreamed of living in Maine because of its place on the ocean and it's expansive wilderness so in November of 2023 they loaded up their cats and headed East. 

SEBAGO SURF CLUB is Boyd scratching an itch. As a native Texan and someone who's spent a big chunk of his life on the West Coast he misses a lot of what he left behind. Those warm sunny days with a plate of tacos, a cocktail and the smell of brisket in the smoker. He wants to share with you the laughter, music and food that he longs for.
